Dunley Walk March 26yh 2009

Above is a Google Earth image of the track for Wednesday's (260309) walk.

The walk started (and ended) in Dunley.

The walk was about 10.3 miles long and was lead by Scott and Carol.

The red line shows the track.

The track was downloaded from a GPS receiver as a gpx file and then loaded into Google Earth.

Profile of the Dunley Walk

This is an elevation profile of the walk (from Topofusion).  I think that the reason for the height at the start and finish being different is a result of the GPS receiver not being given enough time to settle down at the start of the walk.  The height given at the end (about 200 feet) is correct - the O.S map shows contours at 197 and 213 feet close to the start of the walk.

Here is a link to the actual gpx file.    Dunley gpx file.

Right click on the file and use "Save as" to copy it to your computer.

You can then open it in Google Earth and get a 3d view of the track and other information.
